Some parts I liked and other parts I hated. If you ask me I think Thorn was very selfish and I hated him for that. Rose should have never did what she did to prove she was his. This is a love hate book.
I discovered Rose and Thorn, one book at a time. And, now in this box set with the added bonus story which was perfect.
I read this trilogy in disbelief. There's not enough space here for me to discuss everything that is wrong in this book. First, he's a child predator. Take a look at your child right now. Would you want a sexual predator lusting after your child? Second, he's a kidnapper. Take a look at your child again. Would you want to never see them again? Would you want your child sold to be a sex slave. It happens people, right here in the USA. Third, he's an abuser. If you have ever been a victim to abuse, you wouldn't think these deviant situations are romantic. Do you really want to be demeaned, raped, spit on, choked etc. Wouldn't you like to be respected? Forth, he's a murderer without remorse. Is that someone to cherish and love unequivocally. Also, Harlow has no self respect or identification. She's been striped of her self worth. That unfortunately happens ever second in this world. Some beaten to death. Wow, what fun. I think Fawn Bailey needs to volunteer at a women's abuse shelter and hear the real truth to abuse. Also, Ms Bailey needs to research human trafficking and read the survivors stories. Please don't romanticize abuse, predators, human trafficking,deviant-sociopathic behavior for monetary gain It'll only insure these behaviors will be condoned There wasn't one moment of beauty in this book. Hopefully, the gains from this sick book will go to a good cause to help others. Please Amazon, give us a way to rate with no stars
I originally read the three books in this trilogy when they were first released individually and loved every one. It is a captivating series. I was excited for the box set to have an opportunity to read the bonus story and catch up with Rose and Thorn again. What follows are the reviews I originally left at the time of each individual release.Blood Red Rose:Beware, this is a dark novel with disturbing themes. If you like that kind of storyline, I highly recommend this book. If you don't, I'd suggest you pass. Book one is setting the reader up for a great series with lots of twists and turns along with plenty of deception. We don't see much of Thorn in this book. It's not until the end that he has some prominent scenes. Most of the story revolves around Harlow and Ellis. One thing's for sure, Ellis is one sick son of a b***h. He has no redeeming qualities and I hated him from the beginning. Thorn remains a mystery, even after we see more of him at the end. It will be interesting to see how his character evolves, if it's even possible. Two other characters, Pia and Carina, will play a big roll in Harlow (Rose) and Thorn's story. I can feel it, I just can't figure out how yet. I am anxiously awaiting the chance to read book two!Pure White Rose:With each book, this series just keeps getting better and better! Just when you think you can't be surprised anymore, another shocking twist is thrown at you. Rose and Thorn have a dark and twisted relationship. One minute you're mentally yelling at Rose to run far, far away. The next, you're hoping it works out for them, feeling sorry for each of them even. I can't wait to see what happens for them in the future.Although the main storyline from book to book is about Rose and Thorn, one thing I enjoy about this series is that the supporting characters (Amber, Carina, and Pia) play integral roles, too. What happened with Amber and her decision was a huge surprise. From the end of book one, we knew Pia and Carina were up to something. Who knew they had that much depravity in them though. I'm hoping they finally get put in their place in the next book. These books will pull you in! I couldn't put them down and am anxiously awaiting the release of book three. The series does need to be read in order as it is written in a continuing timeline. They end in surprising cliffhangers. Thankfully the author doesn't make us wait too long in between books!Last Broken Rose:Just when you think there can't be any more surprises, any more twists something gets thrown at you that blows you away. That's how this series has been and how this concluding story was, too. It has been a heartbreaking and emotional journey following Rose and Thorn's relationship. The two of them had a dark and twisted connection. He wanted to hurt her and she came to crave the pain. Book two ended with a devastating request from Thorn, one that would forever change Rose's future. Would she allow Thorn to cause her a level of pain her ultimate sacrifice would bring? This final book answered that question, as well as revealed so much more in Rose and Thorn's life. If you are a fan of dark, twisted, and disturbing romance storylines I definitely recommend reading this series! However, the stories do need to be read in order.Precious Gold Rose:This is a quick read that introduces us to Rose and Thorn's five year old daughter, Crisann. She is adorable. There's not a lot of interaction between Rose and Thorn in this one as he's locked himself away working on Rose and Crisann's special Christmas present. What we do see of their interactions is very different from the three books before, but it was nice to see a different side of Thorn. I think it was a good follow up to their story.*I voluntarily reviewed Advance Reader Copies of these stories. This is my honest review.*
Hero, Thorn = 5/5Heroine, Harlow = 5/5Secondary Characters = 5/5Chemistry = 5/5Sex = 5/5Plot = 5/5Mystery = 5/5Action = 5/5Darkness = 5/5Humor = 1/5Stars = 5 ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆Would I recommend this book = Yes Would I read future books by this author = Yes♡BLOOD RED ROSE♡I was drawn in from the very beginning and I absolutely need more. More pain, more obedience, more darkness, and more understanding. I thought I had things figured out then everything changed.Thorn is hard to describe. At first, I hated him. He's evil, but once he opened up I understood. I liked him sort of. He has dark ways but maybe they have good intentions? Hope so... of course we will get more in the next book.Harlow is very independent and lonely. Not very social and has to take care of herself because she is all alone. It makes her strong but incredibly naive on some aspects. She deserves the world but that is stolen from her. Maybe Thorn will give her what he thinks she deserves. Also, something fishy is up with Carina and Pia. I see plotting going on and I fear it's going to end horribly. For whom, I don't know?!?♡♡PURE WHITE ROSE♡♡Wow! I'm at loss for words. This has been an exciting adventure for sure. So many twists and turns that I never could have guessed the outcome so far.So much more pain and obedience than book 1. Lots of heart and minding breaking too. The darkness is amazing too. The way the mind can be broken and programmed a certain way is fascinating. In book 2 we learn a little more about Thorn. Yes, he is troubled and likes things controlled and broken. I hope with book 3 we learn why. What makes him tick? He's so dark and twisted it's mesmerizing.Rose, honestly, is completely gone both physically and mentally. Her training has made her crave the pain and Thorne himself. If she's not around him, she has withdraws and that's scary. Maybe she will end up breaking Thorn in the end. Maybe she holds the key to everything. I cannot wait for the rest of the story. I loathe Pia and Carina. I hope they get much worse punishment than what has already been done. Oh, and Amber. I am so worried for her♡♡♡LAST BROKEN ROSE♡♡♡This has absolutely been an amazing dark romance series. I can officially say it's one of my all time favorite dark romance series. It's dark and gritty with tons of action and backstabbing drama. We learn so much more of who Thorn was and why he changed into a sadistic man he is now. I understand his possessive behavior towards Rose even better now.Poor Rose. She goes through so much in this book that I truly feel bad for her. And her final performance. Wow! It was shocking! What a way to say I'm yours. Shocking! As far as Carina...karma! She got what she deserved. And for Pia, I still can't stand her. Pia deserves all the unhappiness in life. The ending seemed a little rushed. It would have been nice to have some more things explained but I guess it will do.Overall, this was a great dark romance. If you get a thrill of someone who is brainwashed and falls in love with their captor then you will love this one.○BONUS- PRECIOUS GOLD ROSE○Loved this little bonus scene. Christmas in the Thorn house is one to remember. Sexy and sweet with ups and downs and branding. Yes! Branding. Just read and see what I mean. And sweet little Crisann is everything.
