To me Amanda's guilt is not in question. The police aligned too much direct and circumstantial evidence against her. The motive has always puzzled a lot of people as it does me. This book explores motive. You may buy the motive(s) offered or you may not. Only Amanda can tell us for sure and she is not talking. When Rudy Guede wrestles free of the Italian legal system, I suspect he will shed new light on the murder of Meredith. But, who will believe him.
Another fascinating look at an old crime! This is one of my favorite books that he has written about this case. It is incredibly insightful how the author uses thin-slicing techniques to analyze the phone records, trial testimonies, and the words of the main suspects - revealing the true motivations behind the many lies or mazes created by Amanda Knox and her PR. This book is a must read for anyone interested in this case. No other book has picked apart Amanda Knox's and Raffaele Sollecito's lies as astutely and accurately as van der Leek does in this book. If you are looking for the motive - read this! My heart goes out to the only victims of this whole event - Meredith Kercher and her family. No one should have to endure that they have been put through.
When even the hate site TJMK makes a public statement advising ppl not to buy anything published by NIck Van der leek (badly researched apparently), then you know this book will be reallllllllllllly bad. I should have listened to their advice, this is possibly one of the worst books i have read. Not only is it badly researched, Mr van der leek cannot contain his hate and sexually inappropriate fantasies of knox. Several points during the book, its like reading Harvey Weinsteins perverted fantasies. He talks at length about amandas sex life and how attractive she is. CREEPY!!!
This most recent Knox narrative from Nick and Lisa focuses on the maze of this case that has confounded most. With the entire month of October analyzed in great detail patterns start to appear. Poor Meredith’s ends become clearer in this novel, and the cruel motive behind the maze becomes even more evident. Sollecito’s manipulative memoir is looked at as well, and many interesting new gems are uncovered. What lingers in my mind long after reading this book were the conversations Amanda had in prison with her parents. So much is revealed with the subsequent PR that follows. Amanda isn’t someone of many faces and personas; they are never ending with her.
